Addict Actors are People Too

Robert Downey JrNobody ever recovers from addiction. It’s a lifelong process.

That doesn’t make the person bad, it just makes him sick. Yet too often we place moral judgment on people who have succumbed to addiction. This is ironic since increasingly, addicts are everyday people with back pains or chronic illness who have been prescribed powerful painkillers and other drugs . They are moms and dads, laborers and athletes.

And yes actors.

Because they are in the public eye, actors seem to get quite a bit of judgment laid on them.

Happily though, we are sometimes reminded of what beautiful people they really are.

Like this story, recounting a simple episode of caring by actor Robert Downey Jr.

Good job, Robert.
